About Elders

House of Elders are studio-based collective who deliver some extraordinary original material that seemingly fits into many genres while being gently held together by Parker’s lyrics and King’s well-judged production. While the songs vary in style the alter egos of Parker (Analogue Dog), King (El Rey) and featured vocalist and collaborator Humphries (Buttercup Girl) provide a humorous thread throughout their material and its artwork. Never ones to shy away from humour, their sharp social commentary helps deliver some heavy weight production without taking themselves too seriously. House of Elders create a sonic feast layered with retro references which hark back to a time when songs were songs and great recordings were made.

From David Bowie to David Axelrod, Eno to Zappa, Mark Hollis to Pat Metheny, Genesis to Lewis Taylor, Bach to The Weekend – Elders draw on too many influences to narrow it down. Perhaps what might be more useful is to coin the phrase: Prog Pop!!!

Bournemouth, the quiet seaside town known for its health benefits by the Victorians, its elderly inhabitants, and loved by many for its seven miles of golden sands. But now it will be immortalised forever as the home and birthplace of Elders.
